Support for students with disabilities

The forms of support are adapted to the diverse student needs.
Support in the education process for people with disabilities takes place in two dimensions:

In the financial aspect, students can apply for a scholarship for people with disabilities, a social scholarship or an allowance - WSKZ thus fulfills its statutory obligation. Instructions on how to obtain a scholarship as well as all the necessary documents that are helpful and useful in this matter can be found in the "Student's Panel".

In the non-material aspect, assistance is offered under the Individual Organization of Studies (IOS) for people with disabilities. The vice-rector for education, in consultation with the lecturer, may permit an increase in the number of admissible absences from classes in the case of students with disabilities or people who have a difficult opportunity to participate in classes. Additionally, at the student's request, it is possible to include a student's assistant with a disability in the classes, as well as permission to record sound and image during the classes.

The place where students with disabilities will receive all the help and support they need, to be able to fully participate in the everyday life of the University and education process without any obstacles, is the Dean's Office of WSKZ. Dean's office staff, as part of assistance for people with disabilities, deal with, among others: removing barriers to access to information and educational resources, providing psychological assistance to students with disabilities (psychologist's constant duty), obtaining funds for activities supporting  students with disabilities, cooperating with the student council in the field of activities for students with disabilities, undertaking activities aimed at improving the quality of participation in the process of educating students with disabilities.

Support in the didactic process of people with disabilities is also manifested by adapting the implementation of the didactic process to their needs. This is to ensure the equalization of the chances of completing the studies, while maintaining the principle of not reducing the substantive requirements, by: increasing the permissible absenteeism, individual organization of studies, the possibility of changing the form of checking knowledge, including a disabled person's assistant in participation in the classes, the use of technical devices enabling registration by the student sound and image.
